MEMBERS are California Enrolled Agents who have an active
Enrollment Card, pay dues, and file continuing professional education
(CPE) reports as required. Member benefits, such as discounts on
educational offerings and other products and services, are available
to all Members, Affiliates, and Associates, although only Members
can vote or hold elective office in the Society.

PROVISIONAL ASSOCIATES have passed the Special Enrollment Examination but
have not yet been issued their enrollment card (an in-depth personal background
check is done before the card is issued; until the card is issued, the designation
Enrolled Agent cannot be used). When their card is issued, they are turned
over to regular Member status.
First year fees include a one-time initiation fees for CSEA and NAEA. Annual dues thereafter are for CSEA
and NAEA. CSEA Members must also be Members of the National Association. For amounts see application.

PROFESSIONAL AFFILIATES are CPAs or attorneys in California who choose to be affiliated with our Society to take
advantage of the discounts and services. Affiliates and Associates pay dues and attest to CPE required hours on an annual basis to CSEA.

to become an Associate of NAEA for an annual fee. For amounts see application.

as an Affiliate, theyre eligible for additional educational
discounts.

INTERNATIONAL ENROLLED AFFILIATES are Enrolled Agents practicing
in foreign countries. They are eligible to be Members of the National
Association.

INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATES are tax professionals whose practice
is primarily in Japan, and who have received the Japanese designation
licensed practicing tax accountant (certified public tax accountant
CPTA).

STUDENT ASSOCIATES are enrolled at accredited colleges,
professional schools, or state ROP credentialed programs in tax,
accounting, or finance career tracks. Individuals who are defined
in Circular 230 or have been removed from practice under the provisions
of Circular 230 are not eligible for this category.
