Do you like to sing around the house, when no one else can hear you? One of our members, Lynn Johnston, EA could do this and charge admission while practicing at home! Lynn and her diverse group of "sisters in song" (ages 30-80) known as the Pacific Empire Chorus (PEC), perform to the delight of audiences as they gather to perform barbershop style four-part, a cappella harmony. Music has long been a part of Lynn's life, from piano as a youth, leading church congregational worship with guitar as a young adult, and more recently playing steel drums. Looking for a new creative outlet last fall (who says taxes are boring!?) Lynn found this chapter of Sweet Adelines International to be just the ticket. PEC is 100 voices strong and so talented. They came in 11th in the world (out of 33) at the International semi-finals in Honolulu, HI in November, 2008! North Bay Chapter Members Sandy Danioth-Jones, Rob Janes, Michelle Whipple, Susan Harper, Francine Allen, Susan Ballou and Marla & Larry Eckdahl attended and enjoyed a Petaluma concert by the group in late October, 2008. Lynn has expressed what a joy it is to be a part of this diverse group of women who are doing what they love and gifting others with their wonderful talents at the same time.
