As Enrolled Agents we often find ourselves saying "no" to many things during "Tax Season" or "Busy Season". Certainly the idea of volunteering our time in February, March or April seems out of the question. For Pauline and Manuel Baldenegro, February-April is when they dive in and volunteer to help needy taxpayers sort out their documents and file their taxes through www.vita-volunteers.org. In many cases the people they are helping qualify for EITC and other credits which they would not have figured out on their own. They find it rewarding to give of their time to help in the community in this way. After working for the IRS for 34 years, Pauline enjoys calming the fears of those who shudder at tax filing time. She puts smiles on many faces as she generously gives of her time, along with her husband. What an inspiration!
